Subject: 21718/Declare"PublicHealthWeek" Date: Fri, 3 Jan 1992 10:24:00 -0500 RESOLUTION NO. 21718 A RESOLUTION TO DECLARE APRIL 6-12, 1998, AS "PUBLIC HEALTH WEEK" IN CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE. WHEREAS, public health activities protect Americans from infectious diseases, environmental hazards, chronic diseases, unintentional injuries and violence; and WHEREAS, public health professionals and others who promote preventive health services play important roles in providing for the health and welfare of our citizens; and WHEREAS, public health ensures that all residents of Hamilton County have an opportunity to be healthy people living in a healthy community; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the Mayor and City Council hereby declare April 6-12, 1998, as: PUBLIC HEALTH WEEK and urge local public health agencies to join with appropriate private organizations and educational institutions to celebrate prevention, promote healthy lifestyles, and increase awareness of the many benefits of public health for our citizens.
